[§140] The Ancient of Days Will Judge His Righteous Posterity

Adam-ondi-Ahman is the sacred place at Spring Hill, Missouri,1 where Adam (the Ancient of Days)2 will gather his righteous posterity 3½ years before the Second Coming.3 This gathering mirrors the ancient gathering of Adam's righteous posterity three years before his death.4 When Adam attends the future gathering at Adam-ondi-Ahman, he will have a resurrected and glorified body.5 Daniel symbolically describes Adam's glorified person by the whiteness of his garments6 and the purity of his white hair.7

Daniel 7:9 states that Adam will sit on a throne like the fiery flame during the future gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman.8 The symbol of a fiery throne is ordinarily reserved for God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ.9 However, the fiery throne in Daniel's vision symbolizes Adam's position as a glorified prince10 who presides over his posterity.11 In the same verse, the wheels as burning fire around Adam's throne12 represent the power of God13 and his Spirit.14 This manifestation of the Holy Ghost15 will transfigure mortal people in attendance16 and sanctify all those assembled.17 Unsanctified people cannot participate in this sacrament meeting,18 and the wicked world will not have knowledge of it.19

The fiery stream that issues from before Adam in Daniel 7:9,20 will be like the cloven tongues of fire present on the Day of Pentecost21 when the disciples were also separately endowed with power from on high.22 The season of the Kirtland Temple dedication in 183623 included a similar outpouring of the Holy Ghost upon many Latter-day Saints.24 Cloven tongues of fire are a sign of the Savior's coming.25 This outpouring of the Spirit at Adam-ondi-Ahman will prepare the gathered saints for Christ's coming to Adam-ondi-Ahman26 and also for Christ's Second Coming.27

An immense number of ten thousand times ten thousand (or 100 million)28 of Adam's righteous posterity shall stand before him at Adam-ondi-Ahman.29 Adam will judge them because he is the patriarchal head of the human family30 and holds the keys of salvation under the counsel and direction of the Holy One.31 This is not the final judgment, and it does not involve a judgment upon any of the unjust.32 Only celestial-worthy people will attend the gathering to stand before Adam,33 including those worthy of exaltation within the Patriarchal Order of the Priesthood.34 The attendees will include mortal people,35 resurrected people,36 citizens from the city of Enoch,37 translated people,38 and the unresurrected spirits of just men made perfect.39 The Lost Ten Tribes of Israel will also attend this gathering of saints in their translated condition and then they will participate in the redemption of Zion thereafter.40

At this future gathering of saints, Adam will exercise the keys of salvation to open the book of life,41 which will indicate who among his righteous posterity will be crowned kings and queens42 in the Patriarchal Order of the Priesthood.43 This is why the Lord God, the Holy One of Zion, established temple ordinances and the Patriarchal Order anciently as a foundation of Adam-ondi-Ahman.44 Conditional promises of exaltation from past temple ordinances will be made unconditional at Adam-ondi-Ahman for the thousand thousands (or one million)45 that minister to Adam.46 Daniel calls these exaltation-worthy saints ministers47 because they are the greatest in God's kingdom,48 notwithstanding they are the least and servants of all.49 Therefore, they receive crowns of glory50 as faithful kings and queens.51 These exalted people will possess and rule over kingdoms52 during the millennium53 and Jesus Christ will be the King of these many kings.54

The thousand thousands of exaltation-worthy ministers from Daniel's vision are the 144,000 Servants that John saw during his several visions in the Book of Revelation.55 These exaltation-worthy saints will have the seal of the Living God56 and shall rule their families in righteousness after receiving their crowns at Adam-ondi-Ahman.57 Their family units shall also be organized according to the Patriarchal Order of the Priesthood during the same gathering.58 This organizational change will cause the earthly Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to begin its merger with the millennial Church of the Firstborn.59
