[§251] The Time of the Harvest at the End of Physical Armageddon
Revelation 14:14-20 indicates that the final harvest of exalted saints and mortal sons of perdition1 will occur at the end of the Great Tribulation.2 This is the last 3½ years of the Second Woe or last half of the seven-year battle of Armageddon.3 A large number of wicked people4 will be gathered to fight against the city of Jerusalem during the Great Tribulation.5 During this time, however, the Two Witnesses in Jerusalem will use the sealing power to preserve the Holy City.6 The Two Witnesses will be martyred following their 42-month (1260 day) ministry.7 The gentile armies of Armageddon will then overrun Jerusalem and they will commit unspeakable atrocities against the Jewish people. This final Abomination of Desolation upon the city will last for 3½ days.8
This last Abomination of Desolation will end when the Two Witnesses are resurrected. Their resurrection will coincide in time with the start of the Lord's harvest of exaltation-worthy saints (wheat) in Revelation 14:14-16.9 The Two Witnesses and all the first fruits of exaltation-worthy saints on earth‒meaning all translated, transfigured or resurrected people‒will be caught up to meet the Savior on heavenly mount Zion.10 Collectively, these righteous saints are the 144,000 Servants in Revelation 14:1 that stand with Christ on mount Zion at the end of the Second Woe.11
The exaltation-worthy saints that stand with Christ on mount Zion (wheat) will be protected from the physical horrors and reaping12 that will accompany Christ's harvest of all the mortal sons of perdition in Revelation 14:17-20.13 Christ will harvest these tares worldwide.14 Their blood will be shed like juice from grapes when pressed in the winepress.15
The Second Woe and Great Tribulation will both end when the harvest of exalted saints is complete and all mortal sons of perdition are physically destroyed as the third part of men in the physical battle of Armageddon.16 Another third part of men‒those worthy of at least the telestial kingdom‒will survive Christ's harvest in Revelation chapter 14.17 However, the telestial tares will be tormented, destroyed, and burned when Modern Babylon falls during the last seven Vial Plagues of the Third Woe that cometh quickly.18 John describes the very brief period of the Third Woe in great detail in Revelation chapters 15 to 19.19
And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
