[§264] Rev 16:10-16: The Fifth and Sixth Vials Are Directed at Evil Spirits
The earth will be renewed to its paradisaical (terrestrial) glory for the millennium,1 but for this to occur it must be cleansed both physically2 and spiritually.3 The Order of Destruction dictates the timing of this cleansing process. The cleansing of the earth will begin with all mortal sons of perdition alive on earth at the time of the Second Coming. They will physically die as a group no later than the end of the Second Woe (Physical Armageddon),4 including the harvest described in Revelation 14:18-20.5 Many telestial people that survive Physical Armageddon and the end of the Second Woe will die during the first four Vial Plagues of the Third Woe.6 The final cleansing of all corruptible physical creations will occur during the seventh Vial Plague in Revelation chapter 19.7
The physical cleansing of the earth will be accompanied by a spiritual cleansing of the earth. This spiritual cleansing will begin during the fifth Vial Plague of the Third Woe8 when a plague of darkness will be poured out on the seat of the beast.9 This plague is directed at all the evil spirits10 that have their unseen presence here on earth.11 The spiritual darkness of the fifth Vial Plague will afflict all spirit sons of perdition on earth12 whether they are unembodied13 or disembodied.14 These are the same hosts of hell15 will be loosed from the abyss (bottomless pit)16 with great power to torment mankind during the First Woe.17 Two woes later, however, the tables will be turned and these evil spirits will be tormented by the spiritual darkness of the fifth Vial Plague during the Third Woe.18
During the sixth Vial Plague, the spirit hosts of hell will gather to Armageddon to battle Christ and his heavenly hosts called the kings of the east in Revelation 16:12.19 This is a preparatory gathering of evil spirits for the spiritual battle of Armageddon that will occur during the seventh Vial Plague in Revelation 19:19-20 and in Revelation 20:1-3.20 Revelation 19:20 indicates that during this spiritual battle, the disembodied spirit of Cain, who is the spiritual head of the Beast, and Judas Iscariot, who is the spiritual head called the False Prophet, will both be cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone with all disembodied spirit sons of perdition.21 They will never be loosed on earth again.22 Satan (the Dragon) and his unembodied spirit sons of perdition23 have been loose on earth since the creation.24 Revelation 20:1-3 indicates that they will be bound25 in the bottomless pit26 (hell)27 for a thousand years during the millennium.28 After the millennium, Satan and his unembodied host will be loosed again on earth for a little season29 to fight the battle of Gog and Magog until the end of the earth.30
