[§322] Rev 19:21: The Worldwide End of Physical Armageddon
Revelation 19:21: And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Revelation 19:21 seems to repeat John's description of Physical Armageddon from Revelation 19:15,1 and the supper of the great God in Revelation 19:17-18.2 However, this verse continues John's chronological account of another Second Coming activity without repetition based on his typical pattern.3
Revelation 19:21 describes Christ's third appearance of the Second Coming to all the world.4 Thus, in this verse, John saw that the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse in all the world.5 In other words, after Christ steps foot on the mount of Olives at Jerusalem and destroys the wicked (telestial) people gathered to Armageddon in Revelation 19:15,6 he will similarly destroy the remnant (rest)7 of the wicked telestial people throughout the world8 with the sword (word)9 of his mouth.10
The slaughter of wicked people throughout the world will expand the supper of the great God in all the world until all the fowls [are] filled with the flesh from the remnant of the dead.11 Ezekiel states that the number of dead in all the world will be so great that it will take seven months to bury the bodies.12 This further confirms that the transition from telestial conditions on earth to the paradisiacal conditions of the terrestrial millennium will not be an immediate change at the Second Coming.
This final worldwide massacre will occur as continents collide in the greatest earthquake of all time,13 and great hailstones rain down on this remnant of telestial survivors.14 The death of all telestial people worldwide during these final plagues will complete the earth's physical cleansing for the millennium.15 The final spiritual cleansing of the earth will be complete when Satan and his unembodied spirit sons of perdition are bound in the bottomless pit, as recorded in Revelation 20:1-3.16
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
