[§310] The Marriage Supper at New Jerusalem [Zion]
The marriage of the Lamb will occur in heaven on mount Zion as described in Revelation 19:7-8.1 After the marriage, the wedding parties will descend to earth for the marriage supper of the Lamb as described in Revelation 19:9.2 The marriage supper will be held at the city of New Jerusalem (Zion)3 in Jackson County, Missouri.4
To prepare for the marriage supper, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will gather5 to construct the most significant portions of New Jerusalem6 before the Second Coming.7 Construction will commence in earnest at the time of the gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman8 and will then continue during the next 3½ years of the Great Tribulation.9
People from the tribe of Ephraim will be the primary builders of the city of Zion in Jackson County.10 Ephraim is the declared lineage for the vast majority of people who are members of the church today.11 After the gathering at Adam-ondi-Ahman, faithful members of the church will gather12 to redeem the land of Missouri13 and build New Jerusalem as the center place of Zion.14 This holy city will become an ensign to the nations.15 The saints will also build a temple16 and a temple complex that will include at least 24 separate buildings.17 This temple will become the chief or foremost temple in this dispensation18 and throughout the millennium.19
