[§347] Rev 20:11: The Earth and Heaven Fled [Pass Away]
Revelation 20:11: And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
The physical battle of the great God (Gog and Magog) will end in Revelation 20:9, when all living telestial-worthy saints are resurrected in the twinkling of an eye and all mortal sons of perdition are devoured by fire.1 The spiritual battle of the great God will end in Revelation 20:10, when Michael casts Satan and his host of unembodied spirit sons of perdition into the lake of fire (outer darkness) permanently.2 After the battle of the great God ends, both physically and spiritually, the earth will die3 and this will be followed by the resurrection of all mortal sons of perdition.4
When the earth dies after the battle of the great God,5 there will be no mortals living on the earth because, by then, all the mortal sons of perdition will be destroyed and resurrected.6 When all the people appointed to this earth are dead and resurrected, the earth will no longer have a purpose for its own mortal existence.7 This means that when the last human on this earth has lived, died, and is resurrected,8 the measure of the earth's physical creation will be full.9 Of course, the earth's death is merely a milestone in its transition to celestial glory and serving a higher purpose10 after the final judgment in Revelation 20:12-15.11
As a prelude to Christ's final judgment,12 John saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it.13 The white throne14 is great15 to symbolize the glory, majesty, and kingship of Jesus Christ.16 He is the person seated on the throne.17 When Christ appears on the great white throne at the end of the earth,18 his celestial glory will cause all physical elements of the earth19 to literally dissolve into their native (uncreated) form.20 The elements will melt with fervent heat,21 which will purify them for the earth's celestial resurrection.22 Several scriptures use the image of a scroll to describe how the melted elements will flow together, like a scroll that disappears from view as it is rolled together.23 The native elements will not be destroyed or annihilated,24 however, when the earth dies during this final cleansing process.25 Spirit element and physical element can change in their form, but both are indestructible and eternal.26
John states that the elements of the earth and the heaven fled away;27 and there was found no place for them.28 This symbolically describes the death and dissolution of the earth.29 However, the words also mean that the elements of the earth and heaven will literally flee away,30 which means the purified elements of the earth and the heaven31 will be taken home to the place of their physical organization near God's celestial residence.32 The earth remained nearest God's celestial residence in a state of celestial perfection33 until the fall of Adam.34 When Adam fell, the physical earth literally fell away from the place of its creation near God's celestial residence to its current location in the solar system as a telestial earth.35
The elements of the earth and the heaven that flee away, or return back, to the place of God's celestial residence36 will include only those elements that will be refined to a condition of celestial glory.37 Every life form must be obedient to celestial law to be found on this celestial earth after its resurrection.38 There will be found no place for any terrestrial or telestial life forms. These lesser life forms will be appointed to lesser kingdoms and places of glory on other worlds.39 There will be found no place for any sons of perdition, who will return again to their own place without any glory after they are judged in Revelation 20:12-13.40
