[§297] Rev 18:6-7: Modern Babylon Rewarded Double for Her Works
Revelation 18:6: Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
God the Father speaks in Revelation 18:61 to victims of the Great Whore of false religion,2 saying: Reward her even as she rewarded you.3 Some scholars omit the word you in their discussion of this verse, and assert that the victims of the Great Whore are not her executioners.4 However, the words indicate that the martyred victims of the Great Whore5 and Modern Babylon6 will participate in her execution.7 They will do so when they accompany Christ in the clouds of heaven at his Second Coming.8 The blood of martyrs cries out from the ground for vengeance.9 This includes those that died during the fifth seal after Christ's mortal ministry,10 as well as martyrs that have died or will die in the latter days during the sixth and seventh seals.11 The martyrs of all ages will be numbered among the righteous kings of the east that accompany Christ at his Second Coming.12 At that time, Christ and the kings of the earth will reward Babylon even as she rewarded those who are martyrs.13
The words of the Father emphasize the severity of the judgment that will befall Modern Babylon and her citizens,14 saying, double unto her double according to her works.15 Similar language can be found in several Old Testament passages.16 The Levitical law, for example, required a double penalty in cases involving property theft.17 However, Modern Babylon's double punishment18 is nothing more and nothing less than what she actually deserves.19 Her judgment follows the law of the harvest.20 She will reap exactly what the seeds of her iniquity produce.21 The Father has therefore decreed that the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.22 This means that when she metaphorically drinks from the cup of God's wrath,23 she will be destroyed with the same measure of poison that she gave others to destroy their souls.24 The double portion in her cup of judgment simply refers to the two separate forms of judgment that will befall her and that are equal to the whole of what she deserves. Her double judgment is both spiritual and physical.
The double portion of Babylon's punishment will begin first with the judgment that accompanies her spiritual fall.25 This judgment will begin when Christ is coronated King of kings at Adam-ondi-Ahman.26 At his coronation, Christ will declare that there will be no more delay in the execution of God's judgments.27 From this time, Modern Babylon will begin to fall spiritually as Christ begins to take power from the unembodied and disembodied spirit sons of perdition on the earth.28 Their powers will be restricted, but these evil spirits will still have their habitation on earth.29 God's judgment on these evil spirits will escalate during the fifth Vial Plague of the Third Woe when darkness consumes the seat of Satan's kingdom and they gnaw their tongues for pain in Revelation 16:10-11.30 The same evil spirits will literally gather to Armageddon during the sixth Vial Plague to prepare for the spiritual battle of Armageddon against Christ and his righteous kings of the east in Revelation 16:12.31 After this preparatory gathering during the sixth Vial Plague, these evil spirits will be completely defeated during the seventh Vial Plague.32 Their defeat will come as all the disembodied spirit sons of perdition are cast alive forever into the lake of fire burning with brimstone33 and all the unembodied spirit sons of perdition are cast into the bottomless pit where they will be bound for the thousand years of the millennium.34
After Modern Babylon falls spiritually, she will receive the second portion of her punishment when she falls physically.35 This judgment will begin during the second half of Armageddon as the wicked slay the wicked during the Great Tribulation that will last 3½ years.36 By the end of the Second Woe, which is Physical Armageddon, all mortal sons of perdition will be dead. Among the wicked, only the unrepentant telestial citizens of Modern Babylon will survive.37 This group will die quickly, however, during the seventh Vial Plague of the Third Woe when the physical destruction of Babylon is complete.38
Revelation 18:7: How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
Revelation 18:7 confirms again that the measure of Modern Babylon's double punishment is equal to the measure of her evil.39 Accordingly, she will suffer torment and sorrow in direct proportion to how much she hath glorified herself,40 and lived deliciously41 (extravagantly).42 Every person that shares her pride and worldliness will share her fate.43 Even though Babylon boasts of herself in her heart44 that none can reprove or remove her from her self-appointed position as a queen,45 her pride and arrogance will be the cause of her destruction.46
Modern Babylon also claims that she is no widow,47 and therefore requires nothing from anyone.48 According to her circular logic, she will never be a widow so she will never grieve for the loss of a husband.49 By this logic, she shall see no sorrow ever.50 In reality, Babylon's sorrow is everlasting because she is unwed and is continually at a loss for a husband. She never has a husband because Babylon, the Great Whore,51 is a harlot and metaphorical prostitute whose actions defy and disavow any legitimate marriage relationship.52 She has no covenant relationship or marriage with Christ,53 which confirms that she is antichrist.54 She has only an unholy bed of spiritual fornication that she shares with the kings of the earth in Revelation 17:2.55 These same kings, who represent the leaders and their wicked constituents in modern nations, will hate Babylon, the Great Whore, during the Third Woe when they see the physical destruction she has brought upon them.56
