The power and majesty of Christ are manifest in his control of the physical elements.¹ His power will be manifest in a series of worldwide calamities at the end of the sixth seal, which is this current age.² These calamities can and will occur, however, only after Christ's voice of warning is first sufficiently raised by the mouths of his latter-day servants.³ As the voices of Christ's servants have been sufficiently sounded, worldwide calamities are now occurring as a second witness of warning.⁴ All nations, kindreds, tongues, and peoples will receive these warnings to persuade them to repent.⁵ Those that fail to repent after receiving the witness of God's servants and the witness of increasing physical calamities will then be left without excuse.⁶ They shall not stand when the spiritual and physical calamities of God's wrath befall the earth at the Second Coming.⁷ The physical destruction in America at the time of Christ's crucifixion is a type or pattern for the severe calamities that will occur worldwide at the Second Coming.⁸ The current calamities are merely a prelude to the Nephite-like disasters that will befall the earth again in the near future.

The calamities of these last days are becoming more severe and more frequent⁹ in a compressed period of time as the sixth seal draws quickly to a close.¹⁰ For this reason the scriptures say that all things are in commotion.¹¹ The commotion of war and civil unrest is increasing on a global scale.¹² Nevertheless, these scenes of global calamities and commotion are still just a voice warning to wicked people that need to repent and come unto Christ.¹³ During the seventh seal,¹⁴ however, these same‒but even more severe‒calamities will punish the wicked¹⁵ and cleanse the earth.¹⁶ Cataclysmic events on a global scale¹⁷ will greatly intensify during the seventh seal.¹⁸ At that point, the time for repentance will be past and destructive judgments will be poured out upon all wicked people¹⁹ that should have heeded the two warning voices of the sixth seal.
