[§362] Rev 21:23: The Glory of God and Christ Lighten the City
Revelation 21:23: And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
The city of holy Jerusalem symbolizes the glorified celestial earth.1 When this resurrected earth is filled with a fulness of light2 the city will have no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it.3 This fulness of light will exist only after the earth is redeemed, resurrected,4 and rolled back into the presence of God.5 When that occurs, the celestial earth will no longer exist in the current solar system under the influence of the existing sun, moon, and stars.6 During the resurrection, the glorified earth7 will become its own brilliant sun.8
The fulness of light on this celestialized earth will come from the glory of God9 ... and the Lamb is the light.10 In other words, the glory of the Father and the Son will be present on the resurrected earth in their fulness as the source of light.11 The light of Christ12 will emanate fully from the Father through the Son.13 The fulness of their celestial light and glory will proceed from their presence14 to all the worlds in the immensity of space15 that are part of the celestial kingdom.16 The immensity of this multigenerational kingdom already includes, and will yet include, celestial worlds without end.17
